Once you have created a group and added courses to it, it's important to invite members to be able to learn together!
To do so, access your Groups by logging in on web and clicking on the Groups tab at the top of your Homepage/Dashboard.
Click the Invite button on the top right-hand side corner. You can either invite your friends on Memrise, or copy the link to your clipboard so that you can share it via email or social media.
1. Add your friends
|⚠️ If you want to invite your friends, please note that you will need to enter their username, rather than their email address.|
Click on Add new to add a user to the list, and don't forget to click on Invite to send them an invitation email. They will receive an invite from Memrise on the email address they used to sign up.
If the users you invited are having trouble receiving the email, please advise them to try the following, and then invite them again:
- Double-check your spam, junk and social folders
Teachers, please also note: We have experienced that many schools use school email addresses, which may block any email that is sent from outside of the school system. As the invitation email will be sent from Memrise, it might fail to reach the students. If this is the case, we suggest you follow the instructions below.
2. Share the link of the group
You can also copy the link to your clipboard and paste it into an email or on social media. To do so, select the Link tab, and click on the link icon next to the URL. Alternatively, you can drag to highlight the full URL and copy it. If the 🚫 'no entry' sign appears, ignore this.
|Please note: if the 'copy to clipboard' button does not work for you, you should still be able to select the link by clicking three times in rapid succession on the link, then use Ctrl+C/Command(⌘)+C to copy it.|
Groups are private, which is why it is essential for you to add all members that you would like to take part in your group, otherwise they will not be able to find or search it on Memrise.
When members accept your invitation, they will automatically show up in the 'Members' tab of your Group.
Please note: if you want to appear in the Members leaderboard of your own group, you need to invite yourself to the Group (simply copy the link of the group in the address bar in your browser and hit Enter). If you only want to look over the study progress of other users, you will not appear by default until you invite yourself.
