Once you have created a group it is important to invite students, so that they can start learning right away!
Access your groups by logging in on web and clicking on the Groups tab at the top of your Dashboard.
Click on the Invite button in the top right-hand side corner. You can invite students in two different ways, either by adding their Memrise usernames (in this case, they will receive an invitation email from Memrise), or by sharing the link of the group with them.
1. Add your Mempals
If you want to invite your Mempals, please note that you will need to enter their username, rather than their email address. Click on Add new to add a user to the list, and don't forget to click on Invite to send them an invitation email. They will receive an invite from Memrise on the email address they used to sign up.
If the users you invited are having trouble receiving the email, please advise them to try the following, and then invite them again:
- Double check your spam, junk and social folders
- Ensure that email notifications are enabled on app.memrise.com/settings/email (on web)
- If email notifications are enabled, please ensure that 'Updates related to my groups' is ticked ✓
Teachers, please also note: We have experienced that many schools use school email addresses, which may block any email that is sent from outside of the school system. As the invitation email will be sent from Memrise, it might fail to reach the students. If this is the case, we suggest you follow the instructions below.
2. Share the link of the group
You can also copy the link to your clipboard and paste it in an email or on social media. To do so, select the Link tab, and click on the link icon next to the URL. Alternatively, you can drag to highlight the full URL and copy it. If the'no entry' sign appears, ignore this
Please note: if the 'copy to clipboard' button does not work for you, you may have to enable Flash Player's plug-in on your browser. Simply click on 'Run all plug-ins this time' in the top right corner of your browser.
Students will automatically be added to the group if they open the URL on a browser while they are logged in with their Memrise details.
Groups are private, which is why it is essential for you to add all students that you would like to be part of your group, otherwise they will not be able to search for it on Memrise.
When students accept your invitation, they will automatically show up in the Members tab of your Group. You can add as many students as you want to a specific group!
